A New Years resolution? Bullshit !!

It usually takes a lot to get me angry. When I do get angry I try and understand "why" the persons did what they did to make me angry and then look for some way to modify their, or my, behavior. As I get older I also try and treat people the way that I would want to be treated. To be the best thing I can do for others is to make them smile and make them feel good about themselves...that is the best gift of all. Since I work in healthcare I also try to remind people that the reason we are here is to make life easier for people who are not as healthy as us.
As I get older I have also found that it takes 3 weeks to lose 5 pounds and it seems like 1 day to gain it all back. For this reason I go to the gym at least 5 times a week for 25 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. I do it for myself and my wife because I want to enjoy life as I get older and don't want to worry about potential health issues that I can control. Sure it's easy to be a couch potato but this is something that I owe myself and want to do. I don't need a new years resolution to say that I am going to lose more weight and get in shape. Those people that do won't last a month.
So as we move forward with another year I promise to continue to make more people smile and feel good about themselves. I promise to say "thank you" and let people know who touch me that I love them and value their friendship. The hell with one a year resolutions we need to make resolutions everyday.
