Consumers fight back via social media site
The Consumerist is a consumers social media site where consumers go to rate everything from company products to customer service and it seems that a lot of consumers are doing just that. In fact the company is sponsoring a March Madness "Worst company in America" bracket and some top brands are mentioned including Wal*Mart, HP, Dell, AIG and Time Warner.

"Whose the worst company in America ?"
One recent story
scolded Kmart
for posting a coupon on the Internet and then
forgetting to notify stores that the coupon
existed thus some people who tried to use them
were treated like the coupons for phony. There
is also a page devoted to morning deals
that lists
deals at retailers as well as online. But the
main use of the site seems to be a place where
consumers can go vent about brands that don't
listen to them or companies that provide
really bad customer service.
Will the site pick up steam? Well according to
Quantcast the sites traffic is increasing rapidly
to close to a million visitors a month. It also
seems that higher income demographic consumers
like to use the site to vent.

Looks like more educated and upper income
consumers are using the site.
